National Technical Honor Society



The mission of the National Technical Honor Society is to honor student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.


Fossil Ridge High School became a recognized National Technical Honor Society chapter in 2008. It is among 3,700 charter schools and colleges with more than 50,000 students enrolled in vocational and technical education each year.


To be inducted into The National Technical Honor Society, students are required to meet strict criteria and membership is by invitation only.


To qualify for invitation, students must: 

  • Be a junior or a senior (you can have taken the classes freshman or junior year)

  • Have a current GPA of 3.5 or better in CTE courses

  • Have at current GPA of 3.1 in overall coursework.

  • Complete a minimum of 3 CTE courses in a common pathway.

  • Demonstrate critical workplace values, honesty, technical skills, teamwork, loyalty, initiative, leadership and commitment to personal and professional excellence.


Once inducted, members are required to maintain the above criteria in addition to:

  • Participate in National Technical Honor Society service learnng through A. Your pathway's student organizations (DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, etc) and or ask your teacher or advisor about using any relevant work-based hours that you are participating in (10 hour minimum).  

  • Once you are a member, these meetings and experience forms are available at our NTHS Fossil Ridge Blackboard site.

  • Attend posted meetings. A schedule of dates will be given to all new members.
